Gamepad Behavior and Interface Enhancements

We’ve taken a significant step forward in refining the user interface and interaction mechanisms within Afterlife Online. Notably, we’ve addressed and fixed gamepad behavior to ensure smoother navigation and gameplay. This enhancement means you can now explore Caelor and engage in battles with improved responsiveness and control.

Visual Upgrades

A more immersive experience awaits as we’ve added beautiful background images to the login, register, and forgot password scenes. These visual enhancements not only make the interface more inviting but also enrich the storytelling aspect from the moment you enter the world of Caelor.

Additionally, we’ve introduced title texts to various scenes, including the LoginScene, ForgotPasswordScene, and the RegisterScene, making navigation and understanding of the game’s interface more intuitive.

Gameplay Dynamics

Our commitment to creating a cohesive and engaging gameplay experience has led to several key improvements this month:

Character Sheet Integration: A simple yet comprehensive character sheet has been added, allowing you to keep track of your progress, abilities, and inventory in a more organized manner. This feature plays nicely with other menus, ensuring a seamless gameplay experience.
Conflict Resolution Mechanics: We’ve made strides in enhancing conflict resolution mechanics, particularly around player movement and visibility. Now, conflicts, whether PvP or PvE, are handled more smoothly, with improvements ensuring a fair and continuous play.
Evade Rate Adjustment: To balance gameplay, we’ve adjusted the evade rate on all abilities, shifting from a 2/5 to a more challenging 1/5. This change aims to make encounters more strategic and rewarding.
Fleeing from Conflicts: Recognizing the strategic importance of retreat, we’ve added the ability for players to flee from conflicts. This option adds depth to the gameplay, allowing for a wider range of tactical decisions.

Technical Tweaks

On the technical front, we’ve implemented several key updates to ensure a stable and secure gaming environment:

Conflict Engagement: Enhancements have been made to prevent conflicts from being avoided through disconnection before tile movement completion. This fix ensures a fair play environment for all players.
Chat Bubbles: To foster community interaction, in-game scene chat bubbles have been introduced. Now, when players on the same map send messages, these will appear in bubbles, adding a lively and interactive element to the game.
Cave Maps and Overworld Aesthetics: The addition of cave maps and updates to overworld and village map art further enrich the visual appeal and exploration excitement of Caelor.
